چکیده

The degrees of freedom (dof) regions are characterized for the multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) broadcast channel (BC), the interference channel (IC), and the cognitive radio channel (CRC) when there is perfect and no channel state information at the receivers and the transmitter(s) (CSIR and CSIT), respectively. For the K-user MIMO BC, the exact characterization of the dof region is obtained, which shows that simple time-division-based transmission is dof-region optimal. Using the techniques developed during the analysis of the dof region of the two-user BC, the corresponding problems for the two-user MIMO IC and the two-user MIMO CRC are addressed. For both of these channels, the exact characterization of the dof region is provided, except in a few antenna configurations. In these cases, an outer-bound on the dof region is obtained. All these results are derived for a class of distributions of the fading channel matrices and the additive noises that is more general than those considered in the earlier works such as isotropic fading or Rayleigh fading with white Gaussian noise. Furthermore, using the dof region of the K-user MIMO BC, the dof regions of the K-user MIMO IC and the K-user MIMO CRC are derived in some special cases.

The Degrees of Freedom Regions of Two-User and Certain Three-User MIMO Broadcast Channels with Delayed CSIT

The degrees of freedom (DoF) region of the fast-fading MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) Gaussian broadcast channel (BC) is studied when there is delayed channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT). In this setting, the channel matrices are assumed to vary independently across time and the transmitter is assumed to know the channel matrices with some arbitrary finite delay. An outer...

Multiuser MIMO degrees of freedom with no CSIT

We provide the characterization of the degrees of freedom (DOF) region for a 2-user fading MIMO broadcast channel when perfect channel knowledge is available to the receivers and no channel knowledge is available to the transmitters. The results are applied to find the DOF region for some special cases of a 2-user MIMO interference channel. We also extend the outerbound of the DOF region to fin...

A Novel Proof for the DoF Region of the MIMO Broadcast Channel with No CSIT

In this paper, a new proof for the degrees of freedom (DoF) region of the K-user multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) broadcast channel (BC) with no channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) and perfect channel state information at the receivers (CSIR) is provided. Based on this proof, the capacity region of a certain class of MIMO BC with channel distribution information at the trans...

Mimo Interfering Broadcast Channels Based on Local Csit

The Interfering Broadcast Channel (IBC) applies to the downlink of cellular and heterogenous networks, which are limited by multi-user interference. The interference alignment (IA) concept has shown that interference does not need to be inevitable. In particular spatial IA in MIMO IBC allows for low latency and requires little diversity. However, IA requires perfect and typically global Channel...

Multi-user MIMO in LTE and LTE-Advanced - Receiver Structure and Precoding Design

The spatial dimension surfacing from the usage of multiple antennas promises improved reliability, higher spectral efficiency [24], and the spatial separation of users [6]. This spatial dimension (MIMO) is particularly beneficial for precoding in the downlink of multi-user cellular systems (broadcast channel), where these spatial degrees of freedom at the transmitter can be used to transmit dat...
